Swap these placeholders with your favorite portraits. Circular crops keep the retro postcard vibe alive while letting visitors meet the humans behind the hikes.

Vlad

Cinematographer, gear tinkerer, forever hunting the best campfire angles.

Ami + Vlad

Two backpacks, one story. Drop in for the bloopers and the trail wins.

About us

We’re not 20-year-old backpackers—and that’s the point.

We’re Ami (55) and Vlad (59), empty nesters in Utah figuring out the next chapter. We share the good, the bad, and the delicious—from local burger joints in Salt Lake City to climbing Diamond Head with knees that appreciate a coffee break. “Smart Travel” for us means balancing adventure with comfort, keeping budgets in check, and telling you honestly if it’s worth the money.

Value-first reviews

Clear prices, parking notes, crowds, and whether we’d bring the grandkids. No influencer gloss—just what helps you decide.

  • Is it worth the money?
  • Busy times vs. quiet hours
  • Comfort level: benches, shade, bathrooms

From SLC burger joints to beachside poke, we cover where to eat, what it costs, and if it’s worth a detour.

  • Local favorites that earn the line

  • Family-friendly menus and seating
